A ride in the bike trailer!

The Humans are up to their usual tricks. It's not enough for them that I walk with them to different places. Now they want me to BIKE with them. Jake has rigged up my kennel (my sleeping spot!) to the bike trailer that attaches to the tandem. I hopped in, and discovered, to my horror, that they were going to bike all over the place, with me trapped in the kennel! It was outrageous. So I sat down, and then kinda relaxed. It was pretty chill. They let me out for a bit at the park, but I was ready to get right back in and go for another ride. So I guess I kinda dig the bike trailer.

Raincoats, cats, and tartar

I haven't updated my dogblog in so long! Bridget's been so busy on the computer that I never get a chance to use it!

It's raining today, so when the humanoids took me out for a walk, they put boots on me. I hate the boots. Eventually, two of them fell off, but boy, they are a pain. There was some talk of getting me a raincoat, but again, I don't know why. Apparently they think I smell bad when I'm wet. Whatever. I think I smell awesome!

This week, I've been increasingly interested in cats. I'm not sure if I want to make friends with them or eat them, but they won't let me find out. I actually managed to knock Jake over while we were out on a walk. I saw a cat and just bolted. When he fell, I took advantage of the situation and ran like a mad dog, chasing that cat. The cat ran under a shed, so I ran under the shed. Somehow, the cat got out, and went up a tree. I was stuck under the shed. It was kind of embarassing.

I tried some new treats this week. They're supposed to be for tartar control, and they're big and hard. Shortly after I ate it, I noticed that Bridget and Jake kept running away from me. Something about "farting." I don't know if it was the tartar control treats or what. Further testing is needed.

Bathday (harumph!)

What have I done to deserve this? Seriously. OK, an ear infection, maybe a tick or two. And they keep talking about some smell. But seriously, why must they humiliate me in this way?

The only up side was that I got to eat a lot of cheese. Since my mouth is still a little sore, I couldn't get my usual hard treats, so CHEESE was the answer. I love cheese.

Also, I vomited. Twice in the house, and once on the trail. We went to Brook Farm for a hike today.

These people are way too into giving me baths.

Update

Sorry I haven't updated in a while; I've been a bit under the weather, but I'm on the mend. On Sunday, Jake and Bridget took me to see my good friends at Wignall's Animal Hospital. I love that place. I brought my pheasant with me, and I was totally excited to see my dog & human friends there. Until Monday morning, that is. I don't know who's in charge there, but I was totally taken hostage, drugged, and then they took out some of my teeth!! How rude is that?
They took out one of my big back teeth (they said it was broken) and a bunch of stumpy little ones in the front that I have worn down or broken off. They also discovered that I have an ear infection. I didn't want to mention it to anyone, but I was having this weird black build up in my right ear.
So now i'm on some meds:
-Regular ear-washings
-daily ear drops
-2X / day painkiller (they taste like beef!)
-2X / day antibiotics (they're wrapped in cheese!)

I was really groggy on Monday night when I finally came home but by Tuesday afternoon I was mostly back to my old self. I'm eating wet instead of dry food for now, but I'm totally back in my usual top condition.

St Pat's Party Dog

I had a great time at the St. Patrick's Day party last night. Kids were feeding me, adults were feeding me, it was awesome. And I didn't even get sick! Woo hoo!
I was given a grape, but I refused to eat it. It was green.

Snow Dog

I'm a little tired of the snow.

I ate some snow today. Not the yellow kind.

I also ate part of a cracker, perhaps a saltine.

I also had an adventure -- I bolted through the front gate while Bridget was shoveling snow. Bridget and Junior, the kid across the street, chased after me, through three backyards and up the hill to the next street. I thought it was a pretty great game. Bridget seemed kind of mad, though, and she called me "Jake's dog."

Welcome to my blog. I'm a dog!

My name is Carter. Or Mr. Carter. I like to eat. I often eat things I find, and then I get sick. I'm going to try to keep track of my dietary issues, as apparently, my vet is concerned.

Today, the first day of my blogging, I ate:
--part of a pop tart I found in the street
--something I dug out of the garden in front of the house
